With all eyes on their next international commitment, los Guerreros set off for the United States on Monday to face the New York Red Bulls in the first leg of the quarterfinals of Concacaf Champions League.
Despite the team's 3-0 loss to León on Saturday, it has already switched gears to focus on the tough task ahead on international soil.
"We were calm because we played a good match against a complicated opponent," said Argentine forward Julio Furch on Sunday during the team's regenerative training session. "Now we need to switch gears and think about the next match that will be difficult as visitors."
Los Guerreros will arrive Monday night, where below-freezing temperatures are expected in the north east part of the United States. New York, who recently drew with Columbus Crew in their MLS season opener over the weekend, defeated Atletico Pantoja with an aggregate score of 5-0 in the Round of 16 before drawing Santos in the quarterfinals.
"We hope to go out and win," said Furch. "Starting the next round with a victory will be very important, and then at home to finish it. It's going to be a very complicated game against a rival that is going to look for its advantages at home, but as a visiting team we have improved."
Tuesday's quarterfinal game against New York Red Bull kicks off on Tuesday night at 8:00pm at Red Bull Arena.
