Born in Treinta y Tres, Uruguay, his professional career began with Central Español, where he made his debut in the 2012-13 season and won Rookie of the Year. In 2013 he signed with Rentistas and a year later went on to sign for O'Higgins in Chile, where he was distinguished as the best attacker of the 2014 Apertura Tournament.
In 2015 he signed for the Vancouver Whitecaps of Major League Soccer as a Franchise Player, where he was named Player of the Month in March of that same year. He returned to Chile in 2016, where he would go on to win four titles with first division side Colo-Colo.
The 27-year-old made his debut in Mexican football with Atlas in 2018 and in 2019 returned to Uruguay on loan to Nacional, where he scored five goals in less than 500 minutes on the field, averaging one goal every 98 minutes.
Among his accolades are the Canadian Soccer Championship with Vancouver Whitecaps in 2015, Copa Chile in 2016, Chilean Super Cup in 2017 with Colo-Colo, League tournament 2017 and Chilean Super Cup in 2018 with Colo-Colo, and the Uruguayan Super Cup with Nacional in 2019.
