Los Guerreros played their final preseason match this Saturday morning against Atlas FC at Territorio Santos Modelo, closing their five-game preparation undefeated with three victories and two draws, scoring 13 goals in the process.
Both teams played two seperate, 90 minute games with two different squads, defeating los ""Rojinegros" 2-1 in both.
Jonathan Orozco, Emilio Orrantia, Hugo Rodriguez, Matheus Doria, Gerardo Arteaga, Fernando Gorriaran, Ulises Rivas, Brian Lozano, Adrián Lozano, Eryc Castillo and Julio Furch were starters for the first game, which was fairly evenly paced until the second half. Atlas forward Javier Correa opened scoring in the 76 minute, but los Guerreros would eventually equalize and later score the game winner via Chilean midfielder Diego Valdés in the 83 minute and central defender Hugo Rodriguez just before the final whistle.
Carlos Acevedo, Javier Abella, Diego de Buen, Felix Torres, Jonathan Díaz, José Juan Vázquez, Edgar Games, Diego Medina, Brayan Garnica, Diego Valdés, and Octavio Rivero started the second match, with goalkeeper Joel García and midfielder Jordan Carrillo coming on as substitutes in the second half.
Valdés, who came on as a late minute sub in the first game, opened scoring for Santos and scored the eventual game winner after Atlas equalized in the first half.
Los Guerreros will receive a day off and resume their preparation next Monday to prepare for their opening game of the 2019 Apertura at Estadio Corona against Chivas.
